Med' Spitfire skins help?

As usual I’m building an offline campaign, this time an RAF Mediterranean campaign. Could I persuade anyone to do a set of Spitfire skins for the MkV and the MkVIII? Ideally I would like individual squadron code letters. Any willing volunteers?

I can have a crack at the Mk Vb if you want. Let me know the camo scheme you need.

I’ve a MkVIII template, but I think Brigstock’s is better.

Thanks Keets for the quick reply, I was thinking of using the 5c because of the tropical filter. Would that be possible? I’d better grab my bag and get off to work now.

I can do, though I’d recommend Brigstock for the MkVc - he’s done some lovely Desert/Med Skins. I really like the blue one.

I’ve done a few MkVc’s and MkVIII’s. You can see some examples on my website http://www.eaf92brigstock.com
I’d be happy to run a few out for you

Thanks Brigstock, those are exactly what I’m after. To explain what I’m up to…I’ve done 26 sorties covering 1940-41 for 80 squadron Gladiators and Hurricanes and I’m working now on a 1941-42 section for 112 squadron P40s. I’ve got about 50 something altogether so far at various stages of build. The next part will be a 92 squadron tour in 1943 and finally a 1944 Mustang tour and a return to 112 squadron. A big circa 100 mission offline campaign. Would it be possible to do the 92 squadron Spits with individual code letters? I haven’t begun researching this part of the campaign yet so I don’t know much about what the squadron got up to, but there’ll be some missions over Tunisia (hopefully with the new desert map) and then using the Crimea as Sicily and maybe Kuban and Balaton as Italy. That’s the plan and so far it’s coming together not too badly. EAF_Bakshi is doing the individual Mustang skins with GA- codes and he say’s he’ll do the Kittyhawks after Christmas.

No probs, let me know how many you need and I’ll get on it.
I’m presuming desert scheme Vc’s and temperate (with azure underside) VIII’s for Italy.

That’s correct Brigstock, thankyou very much. As many individual code letters as you like. Also of course if there’s a particular aircraft which was in some way unusual or noteworthy that you would like to put in, for example Neville Duke’s with kill markings or one that had a strange camo pattern or whatever, that would all add salt and pepper to the flavour. Really looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I’ll send you the first briefing for the Spitfire missions. I’m holding out to see if the new desert map is going to be in 4.07 before I start mission building.

Whizz,

Some 92 desert Vc’s for your perusal. Not what I’m going to send you for the campaign. You’ll get 12 sequentially from A-L, Unless you have a preference

Thanks Brigstock, these look great. Didn’t realise you’d posted until today.

No probs Whizz
I’ve stepped off the gas to be honest
I’m thinking the campaign is delayed until the new desert map arrives?
If not it shouldn’t take long to whip up 12 skins with a little variation between codes.

Also If Paf is too busy to get his Hurri finished. I do have these MkII’s in reserve

The Hurri looks great, I’ll take it!

I was going to wait and put the whole thing out when the new desert map is ready but I’ve done 26 missions for the Gladiator and Hurricane and another bunch for the Tomahawk and Kittyhawk and I’ve started doing some late war Mustang sorties for the Balaton map (Italy supposedly). So now I’m thinking of putting it out in 4 parts with the 92 squadron Spitfire bit including a full Desert Air Force campaign incorporating all of the missions in one campaign.

So I’d be able to put out the following in this order:
Ace of Aces 1940-41 Gladiator/Hurricane with 80 squadron in the Western Desert and Greece
Shark Nose Squadron 1941-42. Tomahawks and Kittyhawks with 112 squadron
Mustangs over Italy 1944-45. MkIIIs and MkIVs with 112 Squadron.
Spitfires over Sicily. 1943 MkVcs and MkVIIIs with 92 squadron over Tunisia, Panteleria, Sicily and Italy.

Finally the whole lot together- Desert Air Force 1940-45

What do you think, should I split it like that?
Need lots of skins as you can imagine, so any you’ve got lying around would be great.
For example could that Hurri be given a Green-Brown scheme for 80 and 33 squadrons? Not individual codes, that would be far too much work and also might make the download to big.
Thanks again for getting involved in Whizz’s folly.
