A couple of my flight sim filmmaker pals, Wiley and Tinus le Roux are working on a substantial project and are looking for some actors to provide radio comms.
The Project is the production of two half-hour documentaries for South African TV depicting the stories of two South African RAF Aces, Pat Pattle and Sailor Malan.
IL-2 will be the base for visuals of combat action. Other techniques using live footage, live actors, green-screening, etc will be used in the production.
In addition to Voice-Over narration, some combat radio communications will be heard. Hope some of you are interested, and I’ll certainly be auditioning for the S/L Sean Connery.
Anyone interested, please PM me or simply post in this thread. I’ll provide the Dialogue/script for the Radio Chatter… At this point in time, there are only 2 or 3 very short lines of dialogue per Voice Actor. After some Demo testing, there could be considerably more. The “acting” will mostly be air-to-air communications preceding and during depicted historically accurate dogfights or bomber attacks over North Africa in late 1940 and Greece in early 1941.
To get in the mood, here are some of the aircraft you will be “flying” (using your imagination) while chatting with your mates:
…And you’ll be flying against, radio chatting about, these and others:
Later on, with the Sailor Malan show, you’ll be flying Spits and Hurricanes, of course, in Battle of Britain action:
Good suggestion on posting sample script, though I’d prefer to provide actual dialogue lines via PM, better yet EMail, to interested Voice-Actors. Openly revealing dialogue will, later on especially, reveal plot elements. which I want to avoid.
There is no plan for any monetary compensation at this time. Should have mentioned that right up front, sorry. Submission of recordings will be documentation of permission to use same in the Production. Voice Actors will be named in end-credits.
Ohhhh…I need to point out that we are looking for “RAF” accents, British and/or Scottish…hopefully varied dialects. Pattle and Malan both being South African, we will be using South African actors for those roles. Later on, for the Malan segment, we could use a female ground controller voice-actor, as well.
I’m really pleased to hear about your movie Wiley Coyote, being an admirer of both Pattle and Malan. I look forward to seeing it someday. I wonder if some of the recorded dialogue could also be used as the basis for a South African voice pack in IL2. At the moment they speak Russian. Even if there isn’t enough material for a full voice pack some of it could be useful to add ‘colour’ to the existing RAF pack, if that’s possible and if you’d feel okay with it after the film’s release.
Anyway, I wish you heartfelt success in your endeavour.

Thanks for the good wishes…For the record, the “Aces” movie/series is the idea/production of Tinus who goes by the name Biltongbru on most forums. I am just a contributor, mostly on screenplay, dialogue, and historical research/skin coordinator.
By the way, thanks for your work (voice-acting as RAF pilot) on the “Brothers-in-Arms” movie produced by Joe_90. I was Screenwriter and voice-actor (An Israeli briefing officer and a Texan mercenary flying for the Israeli AF) on that production.
