Looking for a squadron.

I have registered on these forums as I would like to find a squadron to dedicate my self to.

I live in the UK, am 16 years of age and am a novice at Il2. I have had the game for a while but never took it seriously. After couple hours flying recently I realized that I want to play this simulator more, with guys that know what to do. I have previous experience with the Battle-Fields community which were a bunch of really cool guys to fly with but when I did fly with them I didn’t take the game too seriously. I have also previous experience in Microsoft Flight Simulator 10, I’m not a novice to aviation how ever I am new to the aspect of WW2 air combat taken seriously.

I am looking for a Active EU Squadron, that will take me from where I am now to another level of seriousness and skill. In return I will be an active member and dedicate my self to the community.

If you wish contact me outside of this forum, you can so through:

Steam - Diego1255
I also own my personal teamspeak -188.40.89.208:9999

Thank you to any squadron that will be interested in having me.

Regards

Dave

Hello Dave and welcome!
Of course EAF is interested in you especially aftert reading your words.
And if you want to take seriously the gaming with IL-2 in our rows you’ll find the persons you are searching for.
Our T/O’s can train you how to fly a fighter plane of WWII from basics to advanced then until combat levels.
After that you will be ready to participate to online wars where you can feel how was being a “real” pilot.
You have time and energy to dedicate to our community?
Very good!
Nothing better that having newbies that loves to be part of and help our Squadron.
To make a step ahead you can contact by PM one of our T/Os: Nepe, Starfire, Apollo, Jimmi and Banzai.
Surely one of them will give you the credits to join to our Teamspeak channel to start flying with us.
Here you can find also me.
So Dave, it has been a pleasure to read your lines and will be glad to fly soon with you in virtual skies.
Best regards and thank you.
Walty

Hi Diego welcome to EAF!

I have replied to your message!
Hope to be able to fly with you soon!

Ps i forgot to tell in the message that usually we don’t accept young pilots, but we have made some exceptions in past, so don’t worry about that just come and fly and have fun with us!
Then if you are serious and you like us we will arrange something!

16 is no problem, even though most here is at least twice that. :tongue2:

Welcome to EAF Dave!

Hi Dave and welcome to EAF!

You sound as though you have a decent, mature attitude to flying IL-2 online, which is more important than your actual age in years.

Its a great time to join EAF as we are just about to start a big Scorched Earth online war - with potentially up to 80 pilots online at once, numerous ground targets, human opponents and stat tracking and missions. Flying an Il-2 mission online with Teamspeak comms and with multiple squadrons and pilots all co-ordinating a huge air battle is something else!

It’s the nearest thing to being a WW2 pilot!

You’ll need to talk to one of our Training officers (T/Os) first and go through a short training phase - after that the sky is the limit…

You get to chose your EAF squadron after training, but if you are from the UK and are mostly interested in Il-2, can I recommend 602 Sqn? Friendly bunch of chaps - come and say hello to us in our forum below!

Hi Dave and Welcome

I came to EAF with the same reasons as you. My passion exceeded that of my friends and I wanted to take it to a higher level.
Lets see if can some time to fly together.

Thanks for all the support and advice guys, really appreciate it. I really do hope this is the beginning of something really great and long time. I will be hanging out in teamspeak for the next upcoming days so if any of you need to contact me direct I will be idling in the EAF teamspeak.

Hey diego,

Official squadron nights are every Monday and Thursday from 8pm GMT onwards. (often people on our TS outside those times, but those are are peak hours if you want to contact us).

+1

I might add that the training program is great. It will take you to a next level.

Hi Dave and welcome, initially reading your post I thought you sounded dedicated young lad who wants to learn more about flying and so was very positive about your application, however some of us are dads and rightly so its been pointed out this hobby could affect your school work and exams. Also are your parents happy for you to do this. Sorry if this sounds overbearing, but it will put our minds at rest.

19 is a UK based Squad and we fly IL2 but a couple of us also fly Rise of flight and Cliffs of Dover with 92. Hope to catch you in the virtual blue and any questions please ask!!

Hello Dave,

I’ll be hosting a warmup dogfight tonight in HL from 8pm. You’re welcome to join us in game and please pop into TeamSpeak as well to say hello.

After the dogfight, we have a Stalingrad DCG we are using for practice in the Soviet birds as well as teamwork which you can join as well if you want.

Just replying because there is something fishy with the thread, will not show the second page for some reason.

ETA: And now it works as it should.

Here are the stats from the DCG you flew with us tonight. We usually rip these stats apart and figure out what we need to do to get better, but that’s all in private forum of course

Hi Dave.
Just looked at the DCG stats. Over 16% hits on target is outstanding. You sure youre a novice? Hope you enjoyed the banter on teamspeak. Its always a good time. Look forward to flying some training missions with you.
Welcome aboard.

cheers, Erik, aka Apollo.

Thank you for the kind comment Apollo, but my 16% goes to Starfire. He damaged a 109 and broke off letting me get the kill on the damaged 109 :stuck_out_tongue: so that’s a 16% I don’t deserve ha ha. Regardless, I’m looking forward to Thursday which is today.
