At Duxford…
Its a replica though isn’t it… ? Not sure if its 1:1 scale.
There’s a video on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvr2ySqBxxk
More pictures here: http://forum.planetalk.net/viewtopic.php?p=28476&highlight=#28476
Apparently the 190 is made by Flug Work in Germany and is a “new build”
Not ready for display quite yet but should be before next year’s flying legends
Having looked at the pics and the video I don’t think the video is of the same machine - it looks smaller than the one in the pics from planetalk (unless the guy piloting is a giant)
SHould be good to see it fly
Very nice. I was there once (in 2003) and saw an impressive collection of WW-II aircraft. Including airworthy ones. Looking at the drip pans, this one has a working engine and I hope it is flyable too. To see, and hear, this Fw make a fly past must be a Einzigartig Super Tolles experience.
Apparently this one is cleared for the US and Germany but isn’t cleared by the CAA yet.
The thread entitled FW190 @ Duxford is a giveaway.
They are the same machine, these are the pics of it landing at Duxford this week… see this one:
Is the identical shot.
It is a Fluegwork FW190, but the size of the guy made me wonder if they do 1:1 scale.
Those shots aren’t quite identical - Darren’s is from a slightly higher perspective guess they were there the same day.
I realise those shots in the thread were of the same FW.
I was saying the youtube video appears to be of a different FW. Look at the size of the guy flying it on the video relative to the aircraft and then of the Duxford one, it has different markings too.
but isn’t cleared by the CAA yet.
Not likely to be either, but when new europe wide rules come into force CAA will effectively be scrapped anyway.
Why we don’t meet at duxford this year?

He he… you’re right.

Got you… I wonder what it is then? The pictures of the FW taxying at Duxford with the canopy open look a little different to what I was expecting scale wise as well. All we need now is the Ubi whiners mentioning the if the bar is visible in the cockpit

That’s interesting Classic. Is there any details on the european rules online to read? Will this open up the old jet fighter types, like the Lightning being operated? I know the CAA prohibits “complex” aircraft types being on a civil license, or are the new european rules more restrictive?

2006?
