The (as far as known) last german soldier from the First World War has died almost unnoticed in January. He became 107 years old and was the second oldest man in germany. There was nothing about it in the news, just this little article (in german of course).
I hope the knowledge of the inhumanity of war does not die with the people who had to experience it.
107 years, he must have been young when he was in battle, not even 18 (or just barely). And all the changes he got to see, born in one age, died not only one age later, but perhaps 2 or 3 (if you can understand what I mean, the world changed a lot, several times, during his lifetime).
Salute! to him.
May he find peace, Salute
