IL-2 1946 4.08m benchmarks

What about the sand coloured tanks on a sandy desert in a sandstorm :roflmao:

Nice one Monstter. What was your res, AA and AF and how big is your monotor? If it’s an LCD, you’re running at native res, yer?

Thanks Joe!

As per my Thread in “Technical”, I’m running a 19" TFT at 1280x1024 native (yes, I chose a non-widescreen with a quite low msec rate)- 4 AA and 4 AF, but tried the Brigstock “AF left to application” tip, and it’s much worse now, even after reverting to 4x…

I read somewhere that you’ve got to set AA to trilinear in IL2, if you’ve got 4x on the NVIDIA, but I’m afraid it’s not true…

If run “per application” make sure you’ve selected Anisotropic in IL2SETUP.
If you are using the driver to force AF, it wont really matter what you have set in IL2SETUP as the driver is overiding it. If you are using driver AF you might aswell push it as far as you can, x16 if you can handle it. Also with the NVidia cards experiment with the AA settings as well, try downloading nHancer or Rivatuner or similar and back off the LOD Bias a bit and set 8xQ (I think the xQ does better AA for the jaggies in IL2).

Disclaimer: the above NVidia settings are from the brief 2 weeks I owned a 8800GTX before I sent it back to the shop for RMA.

sorry to resurect an old thread but…

Not to pee on your cornflakes, but on the same PC I had (And still have untouched Since Nov 2007, must be a record for me):

Done just now, Not sure on AA settings for that, but it was at least 4x … probably 8x min, and on an old driver revision (178.24).

thats with identical settings apart from videosetup id (obviously).
