Thanks all for looking,
As the title suggests I am having trouble with hyperlobby. (Classic here BTW logged in as Zulu on Zulus machine) Just done a complete software rebuild and have everything working as it should do but cannot connect to HL.
When trying to connect I get the usual
“Please wait, connecting HyperLobby server” message but after a few mins it drops the connection quoting an error code of 10053, anyone had this trouble before and know how i can fix it?
Thanks
error message reads
“Error Socket: 10053 Connection is aborted due to timeout or other failure”
the next line says
“Connecting the HyperLobby server failed. Please check your firewall configuration. HyperLobby program (hlpro.exe) must have enabled access to the Internet !”
But looking in the windows firewall options I have HLPRO.exe on the exceptions list so it should be fine. I have also tried connecting with the firewall turned off but get the same messgae.
Is the pc connecting through a router? if so you’ll need to open ports on that too. Make and model please
If not… disable windows firewall to be sure it isn’t something wrong there, no other software firewalls or internet security suites installed?
Port forwarding on the router is not necessary for HL (unsolicited packets)…at least on mine.
I have read somewhere about people who had similar problems…
…but can’t remember where or how they got around it…sorry I know that doesn’t help :o
You have tried downloading again and doing a re install, right?
I get a similar error sometimes.
My solution is either[ul]
[li]re-boot the PC
[/li][li]re-boot the router
[/li][/ul]re-booting the PC (power off then on) in should be enough
Did a quick look around
Error Socket: 10053 Connection Error
M$ says
• Translation: Software caused connection abort.
• Description: An established connection was stopped by the software in your host computer, possibly because of a data transmission time-out or protocol error.
Looks to be firewall related. Have you got a firewall on the router as well as the PC
no router just an adsl modem thingymajig
done several reinstalls and reboots, gave up for the night. Then tried it again just recently and all of a sudden it works
