Help for heroes - Keets does Reading

Whats all this about then??

On Sunday I’m doing the Reading Triathlon. That’s a triathlon in Reading the place, not sitting down reading War and Peace, Shakespeare’s The Tempest and 50 shades of grey in an afternoon.

I’m doing the Olympic distance triathlon which comprises of a 1500m Swim, 40k Bike Ride and a 10k run. Its not the first I’ve done, my PB being just under 3 hours, but it is the first time I’ve asked for sponsorship.

I’m doing this to raise money for Help for Heroes who are a UK based charity that provide support for wounded, injured or sick service personnel, veterans and their families.

What am I asking for…? Anything you can spare.

How can you donate:
For those in the UK, there’s a really neat thing you can now do, called Just text giving. What you do sent a text to 70070, followed by KEET92 and an amount so as an example you could send a text KEET92 £1 to 70070. The text is free, regardless of your mobile provider. It wont come out of your text bundle either. You only pay the donation amount. 100% of the donation goes to the charity and your mobile provider.

Or go to: http://www.justgiving.com/Keets92

Finally I’d say, thanks for reading (not Reading the place this time) and spare a thought on Sunday morning as I start at 8.20am which means an early start to get to the lake.

I could attempt the reading triathlon (not the place)
But would probably fail at the 50 shades bit

Text sent and good luck

Now where’s the like button?

Just one of the stages would be enough to make me unable to finish any of the others. :roflmao:

I might not send a text (Sweden and all), but I will send you a thought, and I wish you all the best!

Of course I will sponsor you mate, a bloody good cause.

Like I’ve said to you before I was one of the lucky ones, 2 tours of Afghanistan and 1 tour of Iraq without a bloody scratch I had more injuries in Kosovo and that was only Peacekeeping.

Sadly others are not so lucky. :frowning:

Edit: 20 quid donated

Many thanks again chaps.

Thanks Keets, have a good time its for a good cause:) I was glad you had Paypal and thank the Service members of the UK and tell them we are grateful for our cousins on the other side of the Pond giving the ultimate sacrifice, they will not be forgotten.

@Os - wow thanks, of course I don’t mind.

Thanks again everyone for your support, you’ve been very generous.

1 Day to go and the sun is shining. Though its a bit chilly before the sun has warmed everything up.

Well I finished outside of my PB in around 3:02:xx, but am full of excuses. The cycle was around 46k and the run was a bit long as well. Great course though and the weather was superb.

I’ll post up some pics when they’re online along with my official time.

Tired…

Well done mate, excellent effort for a worthy cause.

WB.

I love a good stat…
