Harrier Missions

Hi all,
I’ll try and put together stuff that is a bit simpler than the mission we flew last night, so that it’s not quite so demanding. I don’t understand the JTAC not working properly, it worked fine in offline testing. We reflew the mission a bit later, in the dark, and we could see the laser but the DMT still wouldn’t pick it up - so we made a work around, which worked but made things more difficult.

I also don’t get why the A-10C lasing the target didn’t work. I may have been doing something wrong, but I don’t think so. I think it really is just a case of finding the target in the TGP and turning the laser on and everyone using the same code (1688).

I’ll keep trying!

Maybe a better idea to put targets on the road, ( or most of them at least) so that we can see what they look like, and gives us a target to shoot at, until we get used to spotting them off road,

As for the Jtac mission, mines works offline, might try it online and you can maybe alter it to suite your mission

Certainly enjoying the Harrier at the moment, great module with even more potential once it’s fully updated. Gau 20mm cannon, more rockets than a Chinese firework shop, different Mavericks, GBU’s, cluster bombs, and iron bombs, even better once the Targeting pod gets an update

I just thought some variety from the tanks on a road scenario might be good, however…spotting them was hard work! I’ll put more on roads! Ha!

Enjoyed it last night.

Just needs our tactics/loadout altering to work without JTAC/LGBs.

Mavs to take out SAM/AAA, then Rockeyes/CBUs/Snakeeyes to hit the rest. CCIP on the Harrier should be accurate enough to hit stuff, given its reputation. Also provides an interesting tactical challenge for a 4-ship in terms of co-ordination and attacking the target simultaneously at low-level.

Tricky given the confined valley, but would give a nice satisfaction if we could paste the targets old skool stylee a rather than up at 18,000ft and lobbing LGBs from afar.

Can do that, it didn’t turn out the way it did in the tests, which is why I was confused last night and having to make last minute changes - such as adding the A-10C.

Thx for hosting yesterday OD!

I struggled to find the targets. Can you please put them in rows on the road… and paint them fluorecent… and have the drivers waving flags out the windows… maybe have them shoot off a signal flare or two as well?

From 20 miles out in a steady shallow dive I then just might be able to put a Maverick on target before I pass it! :o
