Hanging up goggles

Hi,

A nasty little virus has corrupted my HDD and lost me all my IL2 installations and various other things, not my Photo collection thankfully (I back these up regularly…whew.)

But i used the time to have a clearout and i have decided to hang up my goggles for the forseeable future. IL-2 no longer does it for me. I’m not blaming the mods or anything else. I just don’t enjoy flying IL-2 anymore and cannot force myself online. To be honest gaming in general has less appeal than it did and apart from the occasional World of Warcraft session i don’t play much any more.

I will stay in the forums and i will miss the craic, but until Oleg makes a replacement, i’ll be grounded. Hopefully i’ll be back when EAF have moved on to something else, having said that, time will tell, but for now i’ve disconnected my stick and put it in the attic.

So i guess my status should be either “Retired” or “on leave” as it is atm?

Anyway, I’ll be knocking around the forums in the mean time.

It’s been a blast, Richy. I’ve enjoyed the craic with you around, for sure, and you have contributed significantly to EAF.

But I understand, sometimes you just have to move on.

All the best wherever you roam, but do keep popping into the forums to say hello.

A shame Richy, it was good to hear your voice again the other night, but quite understand if it doesn’t float your boat anymore…

Keep us in mind if you ever get the ‘itch’ again when Rise of Flight or Oleg’s Storm of War comes out!
