Have just bought it for 20 pounds from GAME:) , installed it and for some reason when i go to run it it goes to the check cd screen, once finished the computer restarts every time. Any ideas?
One word:
STARFORCE
Ok, it might be something else causing it but I felt the need to warn you
Dano.
I dont now what starforce is as my whole pc knowlage is turn it on, blow stuff up and switch it off again:) .
I have the requirements for the game but still no joy:mad:
Firstly update the game to 1.1 from here:
http://www.gt-legends.com/news_en.php?news=20051128
Then update the starforce drivers (SFUPDATE tool)from here:

What graphics card are you using ? You may need to set it to DX7 or DX8 if its an older one.
And if you are using Zone Alarm, check its the latest version.
Thanks mate im using a ATI Radeon 9600:o
I will update the rest now cheers
I got a bit further thanks majik:) But now im in the menus and when i press one the whole thing freezes.
I found this in FAQ on the website-
Q: The game freezes in the menus, what can I do to solve this?
A: Try turning AGP fast writes on or off in the BIOS and your graphics card settings. On some systems it has to be on, on others it has to be off.*
AGP fast writes???
Any other solutions you can think of:(
Try the AGP fastwrites
I need motherboard make and model and what drivers you are using, if you are using CCC or CP, before I can expand on that …

Where do you get that from?
CCC or CP???

Cheers for your help guys i just cliced everything on in the config and now it works:D
Majik how did you paint your cars? Is there a special program to do it?
well the cars are actually standalones so you dont wreck the in game ones, but these threads explain better than I can:
Skinning:

Making standalone and icons:

And a good place to grab some standalones is:

Its in German but not hard to work out
Dont forget you can come join us on Friday nights for some online racing action Aceman
Cool. where and what time?
Do you drive automatic gears or manual?
Do i have to unlock the cars as i have only just started and am getting used to it first?
Is There An Easy Way Of Getting The Cars? All I Want Do Is Drive Online…
Not that I am aware of … apart from downloading my standalone pack.
That can be raced on the 24/7 private server, but for some really odd reason the guy who runs it has changed friday night to boring F1 on it
But if everyone has downloaded my standalone pack, I can host if theres enough of us to make it worthwhile, and you will be able to use those cars
Keets is kindly holding it, details for EAF eyes only are in Briefing room.
We drive manual gears, take a tip and drive with all the aids off as thats the fastest way to learn, otherwise you become to dependant on them.
I think Ace means how can he unlock all the normal cars…
There is a post on the racesimcentral forum about this:

But i would recommend spending some time with the Mini and Cortina, complete the A cup races and when you have enough money buy the Alpha GTA.
This way you will learn how the cars handle, can play about with basic setups and more importantly learn some of the tracks without too powerful a car.
The GTA is a very nice car and can hold its own on the smaller tracks against the more powerful cars.
If you jump striaght into a Porsche 911 or the Pantera for instance you will spend a lot of your time spinning round backwards on the grass
Thats Alfa JR not alpha
