Great Interviews

Lagarto over at SimHQ found a good link with Interviews.

The undercarriage was the weak part of the Spitfire - it wasn’t supported by a rear strut, so you couldn’t just drop from a great height or the landing gear would collapse. It was also near the center of gravity, so if you landed too fast and had to brake hard, it could easily go over onto its nose.

hmmm, is this called the EAF-landing?

I saw this over at SimHQ myself. The interview with Wright was great.

hmmm, is this called the EAF-landing?

No, of course not. The EAF landing involves coming in to fast and hard, loosing your gear and sliding to a halt on your belly…

Ah, ok! Now im enlightened…

paf

no, no, no, you are all wrong…

The EAF landing involves coming in to fast and hard, weaving from one side of the runway to the other, avoiding control tower by a few inches and sliding to a halt on your nose.

Not easy to do.

avoiding control tower by a few inches

uh… so I now discover i did it wrong!
After cracking undercarriage I and sliding on the belly, I usually approach control tower straight on, firing long burst from all guns, hitting it hard, passing trhrough its base, and finally collapsing onto a friendly plane in dispersal area.

I can obviously do it any time, if another fellow EAFer did not pass before me, collapsing mid air into control tower itself…

lol

Hey Paf, thanks for the link
