Thanks stunt and Jimmi for flying BOS last night with me…
The game looks much better now after the last update.
FM seems quite solid also. I do however still think the yaw is too sensitive.
Damage model is what sets this game apart from the others. I think it’s the best only challenged by ROF.
I have finally tried DCS and that DM can’t compete with the BOS DM… DCS has a good FM however…
Apollo, i would like to say your “RL pilot” opinion about pro and con DCS vs. BOS/BOM: FM,DM,Dogfight, etc…o:o
We will have to wait until I get the P51 and other aircraft in DCS… But I find it difficult to set up my CH HOTAS… I can’t use Mapped mode, but have to fly in Direct mode… Not good!
So if any body knows how I can get the game to accept CH mapped mode, please let me know.
It was tons of fun being shot down over and over! :roflmao:
The damage model, smoke effects, sound design and FM is astonishing. Indeed, some of the yaw movements feel a bit too light, but the buffeting and stalling is extremely sensitive to wrong input, very interesting feel of airflow!
I wish more people flew BOS. I want to get better in DCS too, but it does not feel like a combat simulator, more a flight model and management simulator (from my experience with A10C, SU25 and short experience of flying P51). BOS focuses on advanced FM as well, but has very advanced damage model, affected by G-forces and wind resistance. Just like in ROF, except the aircraft are more tough. Damage wise it thus feels more like a true combat sim than DCS.
DCS is a Flight simulator vs BOS/BOM as a Combat flight simulator, if you catch my meaning.
an OT-terroristic attack :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:o:o
