In memory of the invasion and our liberation anniversary, I will attempt to make a historical recreation of the fighting over Oslofjorden 9th April 1940. Seven Gladiators took up the fight versus 50 enemy bombers and over 20 enemy 110’s.
Just to let you know. Voice acting will probably not be needed, perhaps an english narrator.
Prioritize those in combat (at least five I think).
413: Was in dogfight over Oslo. Landed at Bogstad Lake and left. Was later removed by the occupying forces.
415: Parked at Fornebu for maintenance. Taken by the Luftwaffe, but was destroyed on April 12 during a British bombing raid.
417: Crashed on 15 March 1940.
419: Was in battle on April 9, but was shot in the fire of German Messerschmitt Bf 110 at Fornebu.
421: Built to maintenance at Fornebu. Taken by the Germans.
423: Was battle over Oslo. Was last airworthiness Norwegian Gloster Gladiator. Landed at Vang lake in damaged condition 23 April. Sank, was raised and is undergoing restoration.
425: Shot on fire by German Messerschmitt Bf 110 at Fornebu.
427. Nødland close Kolsåsbanen after battle with German Messerschmitt. In the dogfight with German Messerschmitt Bf 110. Injured and landed near Kolsås in Bærum. Ribbed and destroyed by the civilian population. (The German plane was damaged in air battle, had to make an emergency landing in a field at Bryn church in Bærum and was shot in the fire crew.)
429: The country on the steamship dock at Hamar. Parts of the aircraft were used to repair 423. Saved private. Was later discovered and confiscated by the Germans.
431: Crashed on Basement 3 January 1940.
433: In the dogfight over Oslo. Surviving on Mjærvann in this magazine. Ribbed of the civilian population. Confiscated by the Germans in summer 1940.
425: Under repair at Fornebu. Confiscated.
413 - ditched
419 - strafed and destroyed after combat while refueling
423 - ditched
427 - ditched
433 - ditched
The other numbers either crashed before the war, was strafed or bombed on the ground (one even by the British) or captured.
