The book “Generation Kill” is written by Evan Wright, a journalist of the magazine Rolling Stones, who in the sacong Gulf War was embebbed to the 1st Recon Battaillon of the USMC, the first unit to enter in Irak.
It is very gripping and written in a very direct reporter way. In fact the book is based on the articles originally written by Wright.
There is also a TV series, made by HBO Films, reflecting the story told in the book. The movie is not bad and enjoiable, but I believe the book is even better.
The TV serial is also easy to find on download in the net
