It´s not a “full real” sim … yet, some parts pretty arcadish, but great fun
and some stunning graphics.

I got it for around 15 £ on amazon. It has its own forum on Simhq. You can use trackIR. There are lots of mods and more coming. Take out the ol Sopwith and toast some DR1´s 
I think the same guys made Vietcong, Mafia etc.

I really like this game. :o
The graphics are superb. It gets a bit mad and hectic what with unlimited ammo but there is a sensation of flight and watching the enemy planes fall apart is fun.
The best thing are the graphics without a doubt. 
Let’s hope it becomes more flight sim and less flight game. It deserves it.
I picked it up for £10 on e-bay, as i wanted to see what it was like patched up… Without the patches it is total arcade but when fully patched up it is actually very good. There are over 40 patches available to do with flight models, graphics,sound,skins. Alot of work has been put in to make it flyable. This site is a must have for all the patches.
How is the campaign?
Johan i haven’t played any campaign missions just the single missions but i think the campaign is a number of pre-set missions, it is not a mission generator like IL-2 has got.
Thanks for the heads-up chaps it’s a bloody marvellous refresher from PF I love it. Just need to get TIR going. Very campaign-immersive and hundreds of things that make you smile and just-one-more-go 
Thoroughly recommended and maybe even more realistic one day, it looks in good hands with the mods. Not too arcadey and very satisfying action wow

I read the above in a review, can you roll the plane with the patches in place?
No idea what the reviewer is talking about but maybe that’s because I’m running v1.2 .
There’s nothing wrong with the flight model that spoils the game. I would say that the flight model is as good if not better than CFS2 (no weird sensation of flying backwards with WOW). I would place it third after IL2 and EAW. If I could get RB3D to run then that flight model would give it a run for it’s money perhaps. Only downsides for me are unlimited ammo and fuel.
I wish this game had the campaign structure of RB. Then it would be a classic.

If only we could get a proper campaign going yes - it’s all in there. Some missions take (me) ages to complete. Stuck on one right now you never get a moment to relax
Replacement textures look fantastic. And strafing vehicle convoys is like the movie. Guns are a bit powerful

Up high good, down low good. Few tweaks only and forget Red Baron. Never thought I’d say that
