Hi guys,
Just wanted to recomment the real air spitfire mk XIV as an add on for FS 2004.
I bought FS2004 for the sole reason of flying this aircraft having seen many good reviews.
It costs £20 as an add on but it is wonderful, the virtual cockpit is almost fully functional and the sound files are lovely 
I have been roaring around over my house in it 
I did a little video to show some of the features of this spitfire to Joe90 and he suggested posting it for all to view…
Only thrown together so its not amazingly or anything, apologies for boring tour of where I come from too
I BnZ’d a Cessna last night… good job its only AI the guy would have crapped himself
Very very nice.
Maybe one day we will get that immersion.
The software comes with real pilot’s notes too, eh?

Nice video Insight. Like I said last night I’m just waiting on the review of the JustFlight Spit before I decide which one to go for.
Any chance of another short vid Insight, but this time just having a good look round the cockpit with the 6DOF to show what its like looking up close to the instruments and leaning over the side of the cockpit for a peek ahead while taxying?

It seems to need some contraption that you stick on the peak of your cap too
If i can afford it I will buy it, i didn’t realise that is what you meant last night Whiskey - if I had it you can be assured I would have been 6DOFing all over the shop
I think the Just Flight one has different versions of the Spit rather than just the one and some of them plug into CFS3, I was looking at the box.
I worry this might mean the level of attention to detail could slip a bit but we will have to wait and see
Ah rgr - sorry mate, I wondered why the view was bit ‘2D’. If you’ve got TrackIR3 or 3Pro you can get vector expansion for about £20-30. Ask Keets, his is on order and may even have arrived by now.
I’ve seen the JustFlight Spits you’re referring to but I was under the impression that was an older version and that they are producing a new version due out any time now.

Um, I thought the demo mentioned in PC Pilot that was out at Xmas was for the Just Flight Spitfire which is the one only just released in the shops, so I think it is the same thing… could be wrong.
I found a good site with additional aircraft too that has a Mustang that has some good ratings and a medivac “huey” vietnam style which might be cool to fly.
You have to pay $5 for a lifetime membership but thats nothing and goes towards their hosting fees and you get access to all sorts of stuff.
I think your right about the JF Spits. I’ve just checked their site and re-read the PC-Pilot article. The new PC-Pilot is out anytime now so I’ll see what it says.
