Starting from the great success of the Fiat CR.32 “Freccia”, in 1935-36 the division of the Fiat technical office directed by the engineer Celestino Rosatelli began working on his successor, what would have been the Fiat CR.42 “Falco” . The Fiat CR.42 was the maximum expression of the hunting biplane, and yet when it entered service in May 1939 it was already obsolete. Nevertheless, he behaved honestly on all fronts, Europeans and Africans, at least in the early years of the Second World War.
Very impressive!
