Fiat Br.20 Cicogna

Nice page from a Spanish modelling site:

Nice info Nepe  and nice bomber

S!

Do you know the history of this FIAT wood-and-fabric bomber?

It was good for bombing undefended Spanish villages like Guernica in the 30ies…afterwards it was the backbone of Mussolini’s contribution to the Battle of Britain (escorted by FIAT CR 42 biplanes)…

They used to arrive on target (when they made it) just when the Luftwaffe was on the way back…and with all the surprise effect gone…

At Hendon RAF Museum, have a look at the corner dedicated (quite respectfully, I must say) to those few Ities, who were supposed to earn some spoils of Britain for their Country: you’ll see photo-sequences of a downed BR20 and a CR42, surrounded by a few Tommies, quite amused from finding Chianti and Salame in the cockpits…:roflmao:

Personaly all for wood and fabric Italian bombers
