EAF UK meet up?

I’ve been thinking about this for a little while and wondered how practical it would be to arrange a meet up somewhere with PC’s for a weekend.

How hard would it be for people to get somewhere in the Midlands? I’m suggesting this because of the distances between this north and south.

If we organised something like this you could have a ‘fast track’ OTU a mini dogfight tournament and some missions. Could do more than just Cliffs, possibly DCS, BoS/M or even something completely different.

Would there be any interest? The more I think about it the more it seems public transport is kind of impractical (If you have a PC and gear like my getup!) Not sure it would matter too much if we had an Internet connection so something like a Village Hall could suit the bill perfectly. We could get something near(ish) to either the M6 or M1 and people might be able to lift-share to bring costs down

Just brain dumping here. Think it could be a good weekend :grinning:

For this from elsewhere we could try and get it near to an airport too…but we’d have to see what the demand was like.

Not to derail this great idea, but what about combining this with Flying Legends or some air show? Air show early in the day, LAN party in the evening?

Would make it more worthwhile for people, killing two birds with one stone perhaps?

At least I’m interested in an EAF AIRSHOW MEETUP! :banana:

Could try that, or do both(!). My only thinking for that is finding somewhere nearby to Duxford may be tough on a weekend like that. The A1(M) is ok for people coming down from Scotland, but Cambridgshire is further south than I was thinking, but it’s a bit more awkward for those in the South West. I’m sure if people are up for it though then we could sort something.

Lightbulb moment though…

What about Storm of War “On the Road” - we could have something at Flying Legends - imagine the audience you would reach. Sell copies of Cliffs of Dover, show off TOPHAT control, down some Jerries and have a blast at the airshow!

Cracking idea, espeically now as the coming CAA fees will choke air shows to death.

Thus as a consolation, we can supply the shows with virtual dogfighting. :rolleyes:

Guys i love the idea…i’ve already booked the accomodation for the flying legends airshow…please lets try to combine something for saturday (because on sunday i’ve to go early back at the airport and home).

I would really appreciate it! Now i have to insist with jimmy to buy too the tickets…:smiley:

See, now you’re making me have to buy tickets for Flying Legends…and I won’t be bringing Laura! She’ll be most put out! No way she’ll join in a LAN party! :rolleyes: It will be interesting to see what the response is to this. I suppose thar dictates whether the evening/Sunday session is possible! BTW the flying starts at 14:30 oon the Saturday - so if we got there on the Friday…two nights and two mornings! :banana:

I have leave and will be in Sweden during the airshow. But if enough of you guys will venture to Duxford, I may be inclined to join you there.

Not sure yet, need to check the Flying Legends dates if that is what people want to do. If it is just a UK members thing then it could be any weekend we wanted really.
