EAF Aircraft list

Hi all,
Just a thought, but should we have a sticky, or something, with a list of EAF aircraft/modules for DCS? Not that people have to buy them, but the ones that we aim to fly. For example, most of us want the Spitfire Mk IX. So a list such as:
[ul]
[li]DCS Spitfire Mk LF.Mk IXc
[/li][li]Belsimtek F-86F Sabre
[/li][li]DCS P-51D Mustang
[/li][li]DCS L-39 Albatross
[/li][/ul]
No problem having others (I’ve got too many) but if there was a preference then what was on the official list would be the first choices.

OD

I have:
Spitfire IXc
P-51
F-86
FC 3

I have:
Spitfire IXc
P-51
F-86
FC 3
Combined Arms
Bf109
Fw190

Sorry, not sure I’ve been clear.

I’m wondering whether we should set up and EAF list for people new to DCS so they have and idea what modules, if any, to buy.

Not asking what people have at the moment.

Yes, I understand. My opinion is that EAF is born with historical WWII simulators, allied front, and about DCS I think we have to use allied planes. This means P-51, and Spitfire at the moment.
F-86 could be a good idea for a Korean war.
But what about L-39?
For training on jet planes?

I think the L-39 is a good one, I was wondering what people thought though, it’s unfortunately one that has to be bought.
It’s a bit of a commitment…

That’s it!

Let’s try to stick to WWII Allied planes on official EAF nights Monday and Thursday! This to have a bulk of people playing all the same game!

Said this, if someone wants to buy other modules and fly them outside EAF nights, he’s obviously free to do that!

No thoughts on a trainer?

Well it could be handy, but how much we used the tiger moyh in CLOD???

i’m much more interested in using the tacview to analyze BFM and train harder!
Has anybody used it?
were to start?

just found it’s a third party utility!

The F-86 is not a WW2 ac. We should stick to WW2.

Does everyone want to stick to WW2? A lot of people have the F-86 and Mig-15.

Trainer wise using the Tiger Moth is a valid point, but it didn’t have dual control and blind flying hood etc for training. This is a more advanced module made specifically for this and does give a guide to unguided weapons training, rockets and bombs.

My concern is whether it would be worth everyone buying, more than the fact it is a jet. The two models give quite a good capability, and they’re great for flying and aerobatics etc.

TacView is meant to be really good. Don’t know how it works, but I would be interested in it.

I don’t necessarily have to stick to ww2. I have M2000, F86, Mig15/21, A10c.
I also have P51, 109k and FW190D, so I’m good either way…
I do however get my jet fix, with a buddy of mine who flies in a jet only squadron…
One of their guys is very active in the development of the AJ37 Viggen. Looking forward to that plane.

I myself am a little burnt out on the prop jobs, would love if EAF flew more Jets. I have mostly all the A/C Helo’s included. It would make sense to do a night with modern A/C and one with prop A/C. With so many A/C in DCS the learning curve is so long I would suggest that you find two A/C you love and learn them well.

I would like a modern-era (I love helos) in dcs and keep CLOD/BOS/whateverelse for WWII

I’m happy for a mix, I’d really like someone to fly wingman to in the Mirage or F-5. Red has bought flaming Cliffs, so happy to join in the F-15 on that (or the A-10A).

I’ll wing up in the Mirage! I’ll get the F-5 soon.
