Duxford Show, Sep 2014

Hi All,

It’s been a while - I hope everyone is well!

I thought, after someone mentioning an online squadron to me, that I should pop in to say hello - since I am here, I’ll share some shots from the weekend with you.

Some of Sally B, the first, in the mist on Saturday morning:

In contrast - one from the sunrise on Sunday:

And some moving shots - I finally managed to get some decent propeller discs on Sally B (she has low RPM so this is tricky!)

A fairly unique angle on Sally B, Two Lancasters AND Two Spitfires - in one shot

Which leads me to the Lancasters:

Sunday morning, I had a bit of a moment to myself with these three:

 glad you posted these up, after seeing them on Flickr. The early morning shots are fantastic, what time did you get there?

Hi Keets,

I was in for about 07:30 on the Saturday and 06:20 on Sunday.

I was pleased to get what I did with the early morning shots, although I hadn’t planned it - I just saw the sun coming up as I was staggering towards coffee and nipped onto the airfield to grab these in a bit of a hurry while the beautiful light lasted.

This was the other morning shot I quite liked.

Getting there at that time makes for a long day though! Shame I didn’t know you were there, would have been good to say hello - the crowd was mental on Sunday though - so many people!

Great Photos James

The dogfight shots of the great war team are what I was looking for and failed to get.

The lancs are the best I’ve seen.

The morning shots are beautiful, I couldn’t get up that early cos I was in a hotel bed with my beautiful girlfriend

Lovely!

It is a shame, it’s been a couple of years since I’d been to Duxford and I wondered if you’d be there.

Mental crowds is an understatement, I knew it’d be busy, but not quite as bad as that. I got there just after 9 and couldn’t get near the flightline. I ended up on the grass, just in front of the American air museum where the Tiger moth flights go from as it was heaving over by the tank museum end.

It must be 4 or 5 years since we were at the other end of the runway with Brigstock. Next time.

Wonderful photos! Thx for sharing.

Wow! Amazing pics! Thanks for sharing. I love them!

These photos give me the impression, that a professional is at work and there is art.

Many thanks for the kind comments everyone - I am glad you enjoyed them.

Keets - generally speaking, if there is an airshow at Duxford - I am probably there, getting in the way of your photos probably!

Phil, I had to be in early to avoid the lunacy and park on site.
