Does this look ok ?

Does this work or not

opinions please

Maybeā€¦ If it was taken a bit earlier before the wheels merged with treesā€¦ But apart from that I canā€™t see anything wrong with it

Stevie

Do you mean a b&w subject on a colour backround Phil ?

Its different but I think it would need a few more pictures to give an opinion.

Composition and subject are great.

Quite a bit of noise in the sky grey colours. And that orange/white building is a distraction.

Yeah the noise is deliberate I wanted it to look 1940ā€™s

the colour of the ground and the items on it are to show 2014 scenery just an idea 1940ā€™s lanc flying over modern terrainā€¦

The shot is good enough on its own IMHO. I donā€™t really like mixed compositions and think its a bit cheesy and not really sure what itā€™s showing aside from your ability with PS. If it was flying with the Vulcan, or a more modern a/c with the lanc in b&w then itā€™d probably work.

How does it look all in b&w and really driving the contrast?

Agree with Keetsā€¦

The impression for me is that you tried to hand draw a plane over picture.

The wheels over the foliage doesnā€™t look right to me, better if all the plane was over the sky backgorund.

Drop the Lanc a little, the wheels are just touching the tree line and taking the edge off of the ā€˜rule of thirdsā€™ for compositions. If possible, find a reference photo of a 1940ā€™s airfield control cabin { usually chequered } used on airfields to replace the red/white unit of modern timesā€¦apart from these I really like itā€¦in fact I may ā€˜borrowā€™ it for a drawing lol

Well it was just a try out

and Puff you are welcome to ā€œborrowā€ any of my shots

It would be an honour to have one of my photographs immortalised in your fine drawings

None of us get any better without experimenting with different styles of compositions and styles of photography. And just because I donā€™t like the style, doesnā€™t mean anything.

Art is personnel, if you like it, thatā€™s all that matters. I sometimes feel self-conscious with some of my compositions, but then I remember that so long as I like it, so what. Your not taking photos to please anyone but yourself.

I would like to see how it looks all in B&W, with the brightness and contrast set for a B&W composition, but thatā€™s because I like those type of shots.

Itā€™s a great capture and pin sharp.

ā€¦nice wordsā€¦but i donā€™t see the shot keets

Hereā€™s a couple more

for keets

Nice one!

Very nice Phil! I like the absence of color, since that attribute would only distract from the main purpose of your intentions.

Did you already consider to implement some other tension triggering artful accesoirs to uhh ā€¦

make it really completeā€¦

for example this one?!

my masterpiece lives on !
