Destroying objects in FMB

I have problem with a small campaign I am making at the moment.

I need to destroy some grd objects to simulate the previous missions results, to be specific the first mission of my campaign is an airfield attack mission at 07:00hrs, the next mission is at 09:00hrs and some of the aircraft takeoff from the previously attacked airbase. I can use the destruction tool to destroy specific objects such as map buildings and aircraft blast pens, basically any object that is on the map by default. The trouble I am having is that I also want to destroy some of the parked aircraft on the airfield that I place through the stationary aircraft menu. I have tried placing enemy AAA nearby but they always seem to choose the wrong target and the friendly AAA goes a little bonkers. Anyone got any ideas?

Also is there another way of using the ‘destruction’ tool? The only way I ahve been able to think of is by right clicking on the map object and selecting ‘destroy object’ but on the destruction menu window I notice a setting called ‘brush size’ this leads me to believe that you can ‘brush’ destruction over a line of objects but I cannot figure out how, again anyone got any ideas?

You can only destroy certain objects. The vehicle objects in the main objects list etc. (Object 191 or close to it)

There’s some new plane objects in there (object 491) that look like this when they are destroyed.

Perfect! Thanks Keets.

Are the destroyed in the normal way, ie. place them on the map, open the destruction pallete, right click on object and select ‘destroy object’

any ideas on the suspected ‘other way’ of using the destruction tool that I talked about above?

Classic, this thread should help: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/50910533/m/46410833?r=66410833#66410833

Essentially, you use the <f> key to paint damage over an area.

Go to View -> Destruction

Brightness is just to help you, the designer
Brush Size is the number of squares that will be affected
Destruction level is the number of buildings (objects?) that will be destroyed.

Hold down the <f> key while dragging your mouse cursor over a green area.
The green turns red as more buildings are destroyed.

Thanks Painter, thats the move I was looking for, I knew there was button to use as I had done it many many moons ago but could not remember what button it was.

Discovered that objects can also be destroyed by manualling editing the mission file. If you want to destroy a static object somewhere in the objects line you will see a

’ 1 ’ entry (note the space either side) if you turn that ’ 1 ’ into a ’ 0 ’ then the object is destroyed.
