~S~ All,
Seeing as we’re starting to get into DCS a bit, or some of us are, should we look at focusing on two aircraft?

I was thinking that we could try and master ground attack missions, so we work out how the systems work and the aiming points. Currently I can make attacks but miss practically everything with the rockets, I also do not know how to get them to fire in pairs - mine always fire individually. I have no idea how to the use the LABS bombsight in the F-86.
The P-51D is easy enough to dive bomb and make attacks, but my biggest problem with the aircraft is the engine management, I can fly it and suddenly have the engine pack in, leaving me as a glider with the prop sticking up in front of me.
I’m wondering whether a mission with static targets to practice on first would be a good starting point. Then, built into the same mission, I can add moving targets, such as trucks (at first), and then more complicated/testing targets as we get the hang of it. I don’t think either the P-51 or the F-86 will take out a T-72 though, so I won’t go that far! I’m wondering whether we can start to develop methods of attacking targets when we have a number of aircraft on, so:

[li]How we go about dive bombing - Standard Operating Procedure - Set height and method of attack
[/li][li]How we go about rocket attacks - Standard Operating Procedure - Starting height, dive angle and speed, formation/direction of attacks
[/li][/ul]
I think it is generally the case in other servers that both the P-51 and the F-86 are expected to carry out ground attack missions - not air superiority (for obvious reasons) unless it is a WW2 or 1950’s server.
What do people think?
