DCS Simple Radio

It’s an addon that replicates TeamSpeak communication functionality and integrate them inside the game.

I have downloaded and instaleld it, but i have still to try it.
Burning Skies the DCS WWII server, that’s trending now is using it.
And SOW are planning to use it.

Pros add to the immersion. As it simulate a real radio.
Cons you’ll just have the frequencies the airplane has. So Brevity is essential and you have to hope that other players joining your channel are Brevity trained too.

Just to add to this, I was online with Red and Jaks on Saturday night and we got Simple Radio up and running. It worked extremely well in the modern aircraft; the benefit being that you can have more than one channel running at once. As a result we had clear comms from a GCI, an Air Traffic channel, and our own channel for our comms. In a Spitfire you will only be able to use on channel at a time. There is nothing to stop you from using TS at the same time - as you will find that you have no comms if you get shot down and this will remain the case until you get a fresh aircraft.

One of the things I’ve seen so far, in YouTube clips and the like, is that people in DCS using this are far better than - for example - ATAG style TS channels. It seems less about chit-chat and more about functional information. The other good thing is you can change the volume of the radio using the in cockpit radio controls! I’ve been trying to host a server to run alongside my DCS server but so far people have not been able to join. I’m looking into why this is, but if I can get it working then it’s a good chance for us to test it. It’s not a TS replacement though. It does not work in anything other than DCS and it is only useable while in a powered up cockpit.
