Got it. After learning the engine start I was able to takeoff and land (abit bumpy), the force feedback really gives a good feedback for landing. It has a convincing feeling indeed.
Alot is left to map to the HOTAS
Apart from the usual DCS attention to cockpit detail (finally, a simulator where I need to prime the engine! :)…learnig to use the radio will take more time tough) the Mustang loks easy to fly as long as you treat her right. If you dont pay atention to correct speeds, or try a break turn of more than 3Gs, things become hairy fast. Here you can’t just pull a 7G break turn, in fact Im unable to perform a break of more than 3 Gs (she has integrated G meter) without stalling. Aerobatics need full attention, rudder use is constant.
And landing with crosswind, what an experience! I now can feel what it must be to land with a 10 m/s crosswind in real life…scary as hell!!
Absolutely recommended IF you want a simulator of real-life aircraft operations, not something to have a quick fun dogfight.
DCS Modules have fantastic Realism, the P51 could take any IL2 Ace and make them a Rookie. I did the quick gunnery practice and could not hit anything with that floating Reticule.:o
