Been flying with one of the old 79vRAF guys and we’re getting to grips with the Kamov KA-50 Blackshark. We were doing low-level anti-tank missions. Great fun, hard work and nervy dodging fast jets as we stay at tree top height!
Definitely recommend it.

Sounded like fun last night, I have BS2, but haven’t even looked at setting up controls or how to start the bloody thing lol
Once we got Mani’s controls set up it was good. He’s not set anything up since he got the Warthog stick, so it took a little bit of adjusting!
Creeping along at low level while there is a fast jet dogfight just ahead is tense stuff, we could see missiles, chaff and flares, coontrails the lot. We stuck to tree top height and kept peeking to see if they’d finished! Found the tanks and thought we were picking them off, only to find that they had already been taken out! I then ran out of fuel, we think, as my engines just stopped and I dropped all of 20 feet to the ground!
The first flight I went on I got taken out by AAA…lesson learnt, don’t just follow the waypoints over the ridge lines! :rolleyes:
I’m happy to try and help out with the controls. I don’t think I have all of mine assigned just yet, but it’s a definite learning curve and a far cry from Cliffs! I’m definitely getting into it though - after years of having it and not being that interested because it was too complicated!
