Ok lets begin:
The big problem is on Il2 the game start with 60 FPS and after paly some minute FPS go down and begin unplayable this happen with 4.09 and also with mods
When I instal win 7 or XP it take much time for complete installation
I’ve tryed also Dirt2 the motion into menù go slow it seems that read much form HD but game go well
My HD are in RAID 0 but the speed is the same for installation
watching task manager I see one core work at full and other none it take 25 % of total
My conf
Mobo :Asus P5Q SE
2xHD 500 GB Maxtor
Intel E82000
4GB ram ddr2 800 Mhz Corsair
Video card ATI 4870 2 GB
Has this system always had this issue or did it previously work well ?
in the event that this is a new development.
Whats changed ?
As you mention Win 7 and XP it does not sound like a software problem.
So look at your hardware and its configuration.
You mention Raid 0, is this including the OS partition ( if it does, seriously rethink your partition strategy, OS on a raid partition is a REALLY bad idea, it increases drive active time, increases likelyhood of failure and is most likely to actualy slow your system down, even in a hardware scsi raid, and we are most likely talking about a software sata raid configuration( i guess ))
In conclusion for now Wildy, check your sata raid drives SMART condition. Rethink your partition strategy.
If SMART shows drive status ok, the next step i would consider would be to eliminate the RAID 0 and just use the drives as individual drives with a concidered partition strategy. This would eliminate the wastefull RAID 0 setup as a source of uncontrolled system activity.
Other thinks to look at are, EIST settings, Power management settings and AV settings.
I think that you hd works a lot because the cpu is addressing lot of data to the swap file. Perhaps the HD performances are not good, the whole system is forced to slow down waiting for data coming from the swap file.
If you want check the had performances, then HD tune is the best utility you may get fot the task. http://www.hdtune.com/
Regarding the cpt task sharing, make sure the ProcessAffinityMask in confing.ini is typed as follow:
;ProcessAffinityMask=1
if it is as above, the load on CPS must be the same on both the cores.
btw, Sporran is absolutely right about raid 0, for gamers, it is one of the worse configuration, absolutely not suitable for our needs
Hmm, you don’t happen to have some anti-virus program running in the background? I think it sounds a bit odd that fps should go down like that due to HD activity, but that might be just me.
