Consolation. Consolisation. Perm any one from two

We’re going to get an XBox she tells me after another bludgeoning session who me as if

That Elite version with the wireless controllers. Please tell me we’re doing the right thing we’re only getting it for Fable2 is it as noisy (fans) as people say?

Oleg’s Xbox SoW-prequel’s getting good reviews I notice, good news for SoW

Sexy in black.

I prefer to use wired contollers - the batteries don’t go flat.

The box is not noisy. The noisiest thing is the DVD constantly spinning but that is sorted by copying the game to hard drive.

If you both are going to play online, you’ll both need a gold account (I was caught out by that when I thought one gold card would let me and all the brats play online).

You’ll need a network cable to connect to your router, as there is no wireless on board. You can but a wireless adaptor for a small fortune, but anyway, wired is better.

Recent cool discoveries is that you can connect to your PC and play media files stored there (not quicktime ones), and in HD.

Loads of free demos to download - have a go at Birds of Prey, go on, go on.

The box is not noisy

Thank goodness for that - thanks for that vital info Joe!

go on, go on

PS: Ming, once your done with playing that game, xbox 360’s make rather spiffing media center extenders ( if you happen to run a MCE box )

a psp

Hmm

The cash is released into the wild that’s been the tricky bit. What’s that like

Whats the PSP like…

Great movie player with a couple of caveats:

only if you dont mind buying all you movies again on its proprietory UMD format

only if you dont mind spending hours ripping your dvd’s to hard disk then re-encoding them to play from MsDuo cards

Great handheld games platform ( if you play games, which, apart from IL2 and the occasional downhill run in Supreme Snowboarded I dont )

Great Personal Media Player ( unless you have encoded all your music to WMA pro 9 due to having hardware decoding on your reciever … )

Its a great looking bit of technology, very sleek, guaranteed to pick up every single fingermark and smudge due to the gloss finish.

Its a great web browser ( as long as you dont mind its awfull browser capabilites and its need to reconnect to your ap after every page refresh, and how it constantly runs out of memory space whilst browsing )

All in all i would summarise as it being a Great Thing.

Still havent a clue what i shall do with it.

Sporran

It could be me but I sense some issues

Thanks mate!
