The 51° Stormo Virtuale (Virtual Wing) of the European Air Force has been dedicated to the beloved memory of Italo Sapienza, one of the
EAF51 members, who left us in July 2006, for the consequencies of an heart
attack, that kept him immobilized in the hospital for nearly one year.
Italo Sapienza (July 27th, 1963 - July 16th, 2006) was one of the founders
of the EAF51, an the first Training Officier of this unit. He patiently and
generously introduced most of us to the art of online flying simulation,
sharing with us his knowledge and his passion. We will miss forever his smile,
his unmisteakable voice in the hearphones, and the ironic way in which he
always reminded us that life should be taken easy, also in most difficult
and tragic moments. All of us, his friends, would like to remember Italo
giving his name to our virtual squadron, so we will always have him in
mind when we will do again what we alays liked to do with him.
You will be forever in our hearts , dear friend!
