Changes at 602

First, a thanks to Painter for his many years of service to 602 as X/O but who wishes to pass this role onto another. Painter was instrumental in reforming and building 602 over the past 5 years after many of our old friends left back then, and you did a fine job, sir.

As for myself, I am finding it increasingly difficult due to work and other real life commitments to provide all the effort and time that a C/O needs to do and will therefore have to take a period of low activity. I would have happily handed over the C/O role to another willing volunteer but it seems the lads would prefer me to stay as a “silent” C/O and see what happens down the line.

Therefore, 602 needs an new man to take on more of a leadership role and we have a willing volunteer who has shown determination and keenness for 602 to develop and grow and take part in new activities.

That man is Flashheart who now is our X/O, promoted to Flt/Lt and will be taking the reins of 602 as of now.

Congrats and thanks, Flash, and I hope I will be able to get some time to join in some flying with all of my old mates whenever time permits.

Firstly a big thanks to Painter for his long service, firstly as CO of 602 at a time when its future was uncertain, supervising the renewed and reinvigorated 602 then as XO supporting new blood in the CO’s position, Salute SIR !

Yep big thanks and a virtual large drink to Painter who is a fine and let’s face it lovable gentleman and who did a great job for 602 and sometimes my sanity - cheers mate
