Nice pics Kris. I’ll try to get a BoB mission done for you over the weekend. I would have been well into this by now except for the fact that there are very few actual BoB Sqns in the game. It puts me off a little when I cant use the exact Sqns involved.
On a slightly different note - do you have any Typhoon skins? I’m looking for PR-G of 609Sqn for a mission where Roland Beaumont tests the effectiveness of the Tiffy in night attacks across the channel.
I’ll swap you - a mission for a skin?
Cheers,
WB.
PS. Check out the AAA missions section there are a couple of missions available there.
PPS Will you be using a UP1.7 or a AAA UI1.1.1 install?
Using the 1.1.1 installer, easier to do.
As for Typhoon skins, no, its a frankenplane that uses differant bits so I have not looked at it properly (yet)
Couple of tasters for you Kris:
Dover Radar
Under Attack
PM me your email addy and I’ll send it on when finished. It’s a bit rough around the edges but it works.
Shame about the Tiffy skins!
Cheers,
WB.
PS Why do my screenies always look a bit washed out - it’s not like that in game?
So what did you do to the image Ming?
WB.
This help?

Splash,
Its not the componants but the fact they are from two differant A/C, in this case the Tempest and Hurricane, and converting them to the required files and instalation
Yeah, sorry I should have added a note I was pointing to the link to say it was two different aircraft (not the skin pics… you of all people will have thousands of pics)
I’m just too lazy to bother reading all through that post it just caught my eye.

I just tweaked gamma from Paint Shop Pro WB, I know what you mean about that washed-out look mate, I’ve got that too. Not sure if gamma is settable under Il-2 (it is usually in more modern games) but it might be tweakable via a utility like RivaTuner, via a Profile perhaps. Sorry forgetting, I must say that I turned down saturation too thinking on it, Il-2 does not have that function and it’s not available from utilities either - but for example RoF does have a Desaturation post-processing shader and so will SoW with any luck
If you’re movie-making btw dear reader, VirtualDub has a saturation-control plugin and that’s rather nice, gamma control too. Realtime post-processing shaders will be big soon, now we have the horsepower under the bonnet. Mostly

If you resize your image at all too, then give it some sharpening in PS or PSP or whatever graphics you are using. GIMP is free and does all that I think.
Gimp is a good starter Joe, PS is still better
Clouds look wrong to me, something about those cumulus - their bases are all wrong.
Yes real clouds tend to have level bottoms due to the viewer’s perspective but not a bad attempt at the cumulus close to hand
Polarising filter in use here in the Google-returned shot, almost certainly

My edit of WB’s shot

Sorry, what I mean Rob is - isolated clouds do not in reality have level bases, they are just fuzzy blobs of water molecules being shunted around by differences in air pressure. If there’s a stratifying layer of (steady) wind they will of course flatten out in the airstream, but these sunny-day cloudlets are standard fuzzy blobs. It’s only when they are massed up that the level base emerges without the stratifying wind and then it’s only seen at distance
If I cut out each little cloud in Oleg’s shot and piled them up together in another image you would see a level base, it’s developing in the clouds to left and bottom in the image of Oleg’s clouds. No I am not going to do that, I leave it as an exercise

There are couple of books on the subject of clouds, here’s one The Cloud Spotters Guide.
You could just follow that link to the Cloud Appreciation Society gallery.
Ta mate!
Big fractals man here since Persistence of Vision on the Atari 520ST (RAM upgrade) (oi that’s important for bragging rights!) and the Eighties probably
Bragging rights back then was to about 23 people in the world ok fair enough. We used to brag via Morse Code. And a system of cliff bonfire beacons

I’ll say nice one Whiskey and leave the “cloud pr0n” to Ming and Painter.
I’ve got people I’ve never met modifying my missions without permission Keets never mind screenshots, do you see me complaining?
Oh you do, ok
I hope I’m subtle about it while quietly inserting the skinning knife
Ugh that’s not nice over coffee-
I was musing trying to come up with a clouds/pron joke, money shot, but I had to stop immediately when I got to the 3D-rendering phrase particle emission. Blobs
You’ve only got yourself to blame mate
Look if Rachelle can almost need oxygen after getting into fits of laughter at the weekend about her new vacuum cleaner and the phrase ‘crevice nozzle’, I can joke about that other thing. Constable.
