Bring Her Home: MH603 FN-B - DCS Spitfire Video Competition

This is my first DCS video and I hope you will enjoy this short documentary. It follows the real story of MH603, the last existing Spitfire that saw service with the Norwegian 331 Squadron RAF. MH603 is being restored and Norwegian Spitfire Foundation wishes to get it back home to Norway.

Following that is a reconstruction of a real combat sortie 80km into occupied France: Ramrod 472 on 23rd January 1944, where MH603 was leading a bounce on 4 FW 190’s. This sortie is based on 331’s ORB (Operations Records Book) and Individual Combat Report.

Music is by Evan King and is royalty free, make sure to check him out!

Subtitles for the entire video, including the speeches of Crown Prince Olav, will be added later this day when I get home from work.

Enjoy!

82%!!! :(:(:frowning:

Thanks Jimmi, Apollo and Nepe.

82 percent is indeed tragic. The cost of supporting the troops on the ground with direct line of sight bombing and strafing, leaving you completely open to low altitude flak. They lost so many pilots during the 1944-1945 day to day ground support, rhubarbs and armed recon far into enemy territory, and only a handful of veterans survived the last months of the war in the turbulent advances into the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany in 1945.
