Book recommendation - 'Lancaster'

Finished a book while on my hols I can recommend to one and all - ‘Lancaster - the Second World War’s Greatest Bomber’ by Leo McKinstry.

Very good read and some very interesting stuff in there - especially on how much Bomber Harris hated the Halifax and was costantly badgering the the Air Ministry to turn over the entire production to Lancs.

However has got some inaccuracies and howlers in there - eg ‘Boeing B-24 Liberator’ :roflmao: and a quote about the decline in Luftwaffe pilot skill being due to a reliance on ‘ground based simulators’

(Willing to be proved wrong on that last point - but the only WW2-era sim/training device I know of is the Link trainer - which I’m pretty sure the Luftwaffe didn’t use.)

Good book overall though!
