Can anyone identify this bird for me ?
Just curious as I heard all a racket in the back garden, and when I went to look I saw this bird of prey attacking what was a chick, obviously fallen (or been pushed out of) its nest.
Noise was the parent bird swooping and chirping trying (very innefectualy it appeared) to distract the predator.
My un-bird orientated mind thought it looked a little like a Kestral, but I thought they were much bigger (this would have been around 10" (26cm) at most from beak to tail).
Excuse pic quality, max digital zoom from bedroom window on a point n shoot digital camera.
