Tempted to get the mig15 and Heuy…are we likely to fly them
A few people have the Mig-15, Pax definitely. I have the Huey. Really enjoying flying it at the moment. The Mig-21 is a bargain too…but I’ve gone and got the L-39 after watching some stuff and reading reviews
I really like the potential for training. What is a real shame though is that there is no way for a squad to purchase something like this for actual training - I did put a post saying that on the DCS Forum. Because if you want to train someone up then you both have to have the module. That’s quite a commitment to make for someone new to a squad or a sim. However, the reviews for the training potential are really good (especially if you read the account of the guy above). The co-operative multiplayer aspect, with the rear seat controls taking precedence over the front if required is really good.
I think the way DCS is developing it may be the way forwards - maybe in 2017 - but until then we’ll probably still be torn between Cliffs, Stalingrad and DCS, but the recent news about cheating and hacking in BoS/M really leaves me cold on that one.
However, the Huey is excellent, but I can not comment on the Mig-15, though I was tempted by that too…and the Hawk! I’m like a kid in a sweet shop when it comes to this!!! :roflmao:
One thing about the Huey…I’ve had far more sensation of what is going on with Oculus Rift in the Huey than in any other aircraft. The only way I can describe it is by comparing it to that falling sensation you can get in your sleep. You’re not moving, certainly not falling, but it feels very real. I get that in the Huey. It is so much easier to judge things and to drop under power lines, bridges etc, you can judge exactly where things are. I know you’ve not go it yet, but it is really good as a combination.
