Well mebby it’s “old news” but “Ledspitter” just told me that if you put,
AI. groups of 4 bombers WITHOUT, ammo and 1-2 bombers in between them
WITH, Bomb loadouts and no “bailouts” for ANY, of the Bombers, then you can get BIG,
Bomb-Formations with NO, or Little LAG!
(30-40 Bombers without Bombload+8-10 Bombers WITH Bomb loads.)
Can Make For Interesting Missions.
(Specially if you put the ones With Bomb Loads as “Flyable”)
Then We can get Bouth High Level Bombing + Escort-Attack Big Formations.
Without ammo, it would take out the AI overhead. But would also mean no defence from those bombers. No parachutes is something I introduced towards the end of the BoB campaign in an effort to reduce the lag when the bombers were attacked.
If you had an armed formation of 2 for ever unarmed formation of 4 you’d have 60 bombers with the defensive fire of 20 (obviously). Would that make enough of a difference? 20 armed bombers sounds like a lot to me, though no parachutes would help
Well I have spent 15 hrs+ on experimenting with this “thing.”
I have come up with 10-15 diff. mis. that gives very LOW LAG,
for about “40 bombers” formation + Escort-Attacker planes that
makes for around 60 planes in the Air, With good aircover for bombers
on there own. (not including Escort plans.)
(I also made many Bombers flyable to give more options for those interested)

Snake, you should look at UQMG (Uber Quick Mission Generator) if you want large formations. With it you’re able to create clone flights and should cut down on the time spent hand crafting the missions.
