Enforced single-play right now and very enjoyable too

Commander mode is really scary, pressure pressure - and you need to work very fast - I was on 16 bot maps. Best to practice this offline or face mutiny :slight_smile: Now I’ve tried it I know how tricky it is, but strategy fans will love it

Very similar offline to online, the bots are excellent on Veteran mode, I’ve not tried Expert mode because they are a real handful

Massive firefights just like online - bots don’t handle the vehicles all that well but as a gunner you can watch the AI driver/pilot deciding what to do, the chopper pilots are very good. But troopers know all about enfilading and flankiing and they work as a team, even joining an AI team is interesting. Then six of them come over a hill at you fanning out and hitting the deck. Will mod for 64 bots later, that should be fun :slight_smile:

Only one mode though so full-on battles all the way. Which is good :slight_smile:

Yep and you can play singleplayer maps on a LAN. Team up with or against your kids. Works fine with one copy of BF2 in the house :smiley: .

I like to make a squad a start moving my household around :stuck_out_tongue:

Two questions

  1. Can i play any bigger maps than 16 players offline on my own? How do i increase the number of bots without trying to start a LAN session, even when i start a LAN session it tells me the game will only begin when one more player joins.

  2. Is it possible to unlock weapons in the offline mode?

The bots really are good. No really good they are it’s scary after the Battlefield Blundering Bots

They always hit the deck right away if caught in the open, they let you take any position in vehicles, medic you and supply ammo, move together in their own squads with squad tasks - very impressed - on Veteran setting so far I’m a bit nervous of turning them on to Expert to be honest :slight_smile:

Being gunner to an AI driver is excellent in all the vehicles. They have those orders now to defend/attack/move as a squad. Not seen any stupid-AI behaviour once yet… always with the knives when they creep up on you unawares - I’ve had a few fights with a couple of them trying to slash my kit to pieces I think they’re cannibals or something :slight_smile:

Far Cry and HL2 eat your heart out I can’t believe how realistic the environments are in there and the music - bloody nice that is, whistling it all day long

Water Margin music it could be: dang dah-dah da-da-da dang dah-dah da-da-da :slight_smile:
