Anyone got any handy hints for landing single seaters in BoS
I always come down too hard and bounce , snapping the tail off.
I normally approach with full flaps and zero throttle bleeding the airspeed down to near stall, but I’m still too fast.
If I had have been a Luftwaffe Pilot I reckon I would have shortened the war by two years , by breaking everything.
Land anything like you’re landing aircraft in RoF and you won’t go wrong.
Slow, slow and slow. It’s a heavy aircraft, not a JCB, so gentle with the touch down/rate of descent. That’ll be why you’re bouncing, you’re too fast and too eager to get her down. (I’ve set this up for you Phil! don’t let me down)
Fly a circuit, that helps.
there are two things to consider, not only that you are next to stall speed, which is good, but also your rate of descent. You can be at 160 kph with zero rate of descent, or you can be coming down too hot.
You say you are at throttle zero, that makes me think that maybe you are descending too fast. Throttle to zero only at the flare, before that you want some throttle to control your rate of descent, that is, if you are coming down too hot add throttle.

I’m sure we will be bale to do some landings training done when MP goes past just DF
I found the BoS aircraft surprisingly resilient to my ham-fisted landing, despite everything being set to ‘Expert’ [sic]
