Battle of Britain Spitfire, first flight

Meat and drink, nectar for virtual Spitfire pilots: Geoffrey Page DSO, OBE, DFC and bar describes his first attempt at takeoff procedures (eat your heart out Len Deighton) in a Spitfire.

The time is around the time of the Phoney War and Geoffrey is taking off in an unfamiliar plane, having blagged his way into taking the Spitfire up with only a read of the manual and some tips…

Highly recommended book ‘Shot Down In Flames’, reprinted 2011 under this title, originally ‘Tale Of A Guinea Pig’ 1999. Publisher: Grub Street

Goes on the shelf beside ‘First Light’

A refreshing read, thanks Ming.
I always had some doubts about reading english books. And some examples are written in a way I have to look up something in every second sentence. This seems to be written with simple words. Really thinking about a purchase
