I am experiencing problems with the pedals, if any of you uses these pedals Id like to know if you get output signal across the full deflection of the pedals, or whether you get the maximum output signal well before the max. physical deflection (as is my case)
I have, connected through my Cougar.
As far as I can remember I get the full deflection when it’s fully moved physically, might be that they max out slightly before the physical max. I have to check to say for sure.
Its now 2 SEOW where I almost crash in takeoff because, when I give full deflection, the rudder gets stuck in max. left position even when the pedals are centered.
I did a test and all seems normal. But my calibrations seems off. When I get to 80% of the movement I reached 100% of the DirectX axis.
This is the same that happens to me. When I reach 100% output I still have a lot of movement to do with the pedals. And sometimes, when I am past the 100% signal, suddenly what I get is a full left rudder input.
Particularly upsetting when you are trying to takeoff, or bomb an allied destroyer
I have just looked at them and reread my manual. I have the same holes as you, but I am unaware if the have a purpose.
The manual states that you should be aware of magnets but I doubt that you have anything nearby.
I did have a strange and irratic behaviour a few years back. The problem where that the wire had been drawn out of the housing and that pedal movement began to pull at the electronics.
I had to open them and pull some of the wire back into the housing.
I received a reply from Mr. Gunter Hoffmann, from dhs-electronic.
The problem was that the front magnet got a bit off, and the readings from the hall sensors were wrong. Push it manually into place and everything is fine again. :)
All I can say is that, after 5 years with these pedals I still love them. A well-thought, well-done piece of hardware.
I’ve had my Simpeds for around 4 years now too and just lately I’ve been getting the exact symptom you describe. Stuck in full left rudder. It’s happened around 4-5 times now. Unplugging the usb and re connecting resolved it.
But after reading this I will check the magnets. Thanks for the heads up.
Oh and I love my simpeds too
Easily the best piece of hardware I ever bought for my simming habit
