Announcing:EAF Top Fighter Element Competition

I’m hoping to get my flying evenings back with the kids after school sessions changing days soon. Apollo, Topsy and Marsh, let us know when you are practicing as I need some.

Ribbon and Cyclops…:5eek::5eek:

Hehe thank you Swoop, but we may not be so good since we’re switching to VR.
We might even shot each other :stuck_out_tongue:
Well i hope i won’t go fully on VR and use tir when playing MP, except when flying bombers but as others stated there is no turning back from the dark side.

Flash checking in for this! Just the job to motivate me to up my skills!

You still need a wingman, Swoop?

Great news Flash!!
That’s the whole idea with this. To have a reason to improve our fighter combat skills.
This comes in handy when we fly campaigns and find ourselves intercepted by the bad guys.

Looking forward to meeting you on the field of friendly competition.

Cheers.

So, are we flying EAW or DCS or CoD? For EAW I should ask Paddy to dust off his flying gear and start training again. CoD, well maybe I could convince Mram to bare with me? DCS I suspect I would be on my own, is it ok if I take the Viggen against a tanker or something? :roflmao:

BoX

Looks like a load of fun if I can get flying again, and by the sounds of it things are coming together again with a good sim?

Any advice on what I need to get set up would be most appreciated. EG, what BoX games would I need to buy to fly and can I start with just one?

Thumbs up to the OTU for setting this up :w00t:

Any of the BoX series will do, I’m not sure which has the best planeset. I’m guessing I will end up in the 109F-4 with Red. You can buy the collector planes separately, if you wish.

Warning for all of you!! A new team is born: Sir and Dedalo are team mate for this competition! So be aware!!!:banana:

Me109 or Mc202 for us!!

We decided, just few minutes ago to join in couple me (EAF51_Dedalo) and Sir (EAF51_Sir).

Check planeset of each expansion and pick one with planes you like the most.
Overall best title to start with is BoS taking in consideration planes that are most competitive and most flown online, but that is just my opinion.
From collector planes: fw190a3 and yak1b
S!

@Joe
With the Premium edition you usually get 2 extra aircraft for the price of one. Compared when you buy them separately.
If you like fighters, the Yak-1b is a dream to fly as an Allied pilot.
The FW190 is an acquired taste.
Since I drink both Bowmore and Lagavulin, I am quite sure that you won’t use much guessing to what I fly when I can

lol, those certainly are acquired tastes. I’m a Vodka man, so Russian for me I think to start, thanks for the recommendation, Ribbon.

…at least until the planeset I see is coming in Ardennes.

Sign me up for the tournament please but only as a spare for now. And I’ll be asking for some training help too once I get past the basics, dear OTU.

YESSS! Joe is back! Good to see you Skipper!

NB: Kuban has (possibly nicest scenery) and the Spit VB…

I love the SpitVb but it’s not as competitive as the Yak1b but I’m just setup for wing mounted guns and it’s a Spitfire with twin cannons for god sake. Nuff said.

Kuban is beautiful with the sea and snow topped mountains, really an excellent map.

For some reason I am looking forward to the 7b, not sure why.

But P-39…

Oi!

I’m late to the show. I’ve been filming more hours of real aircraft than virtual. I’m rusty as a sunken ship, I haven’t flown since SOW4, err 5? Lost count. I am waiting for a new Track IR clip to arrive, I hope it arrives in the next three weeks.

After that I can start on the long road back home in the cockpit…

I have little to no experience in BoX. My only aircraft that is burnt into my mind is the Beaufighter, Hurricane and IL-2 - from other sims, and only one of them is an obsolete fighter.

Who would in their right mind have me as their wingman in my current state. :roflmao: I’ll be waiting in the corner and pairing up with anyone who are keen for a quick show to mother earth. What goes up…

I have always admired the underdogs, the brave souls who took up the fight in a lesser aircraft of a different time, but who became a greater man. Or when there was no other choice, but you had to do it. War is unfair. I would chose the IL-2, it is what I would go to war with.

But there were other brave men, those who flew the Donkey, the Ishak, the I-16 from the first day. With lack of aircraft and the enemy fast approaching, there was no other choice for many, and they fought on long into 1943. Many I-16’s returned to front line service at Stalingrad due to the crippling aircraft shortage. From those that fought from the beginning, all but a few were then dead.

There were equally brave men in the LaGG-3. But who wants to remember the LaGG, Lakirovanny Garantirovanny Grab, “varnished guaranteed coffin”.

I’ll be up for re-training once the TrackHat Clip has arrived. It has been a long leave from the squadron.

It’s good to have you back Stuntman. I’m sure you’ll get back into the groove quickly.
I’ll gladly do a few sessions with you. Like we did back in 1946.

That would be lovely, I still remember our Macchi 200 vs Hurricane fight…and susbequent continued fight on the ground, you running through my flipped Hurricane guns! You better reserve a full squadron of OTU aircraft. :roflmao:

LOL!!!
Good times!!
