PLANNED DATES: Thursday 3rd September + Monday 7th September + Thursday 10th September. MEETING & BRIEFING 21.00 CET / 20.00 BST / 19.00 GMT. MISSION START: 21.30 CET / 20.30 BST / 19.30 GMT. TEAMSPEAK: Storm of War SERVER: Storm of War
Anyone can join, though I need organized squadrons most of all! I especially need Axis squadrons!
EAF and I prefer to fly Monday and Thursday. If you cannot fly on these two days, post it!
Are you willing to spend at least 2 hours for this event? It will take some time to form up, loiter and wait in the right place, before going into the big bomber formation and battle.
If all those points work for you, please sign up! If you are interested but can’t on Monday or Thursday, tell me so!
THE PLAN - recreate a huge interception mission with escorts, over the cliffs of Dover:
A: Each side has two groups of many aircraft: 3-4 Wings/Schwarms.
B: An AI bomber raid will fly west across the white cliffs of dover. All the fighting will happen around the bombers. THe raid is the center of attention. Follow it if you are lost or have disengaged.
C: A specific area to fight over: Dover and its cliffs. Easy landmark to aim for.
D: Air spawn: both sides spawn in the air and all the different squadrons close together.
E: Mission can be restarted multiple times to get everything back into position.
The event will have three chapters:
Interception: First contact with bombers and escorts. Allies chase down the bombers.
Attacking/Defending bonbers; Bombers are attacked, escort defends them
Reinforcements: More Allied and Axis fighters arrive to engage at will.
Summary:
Axis 109 escort large AI bomber raid at high altitude (first group).
Allied Hurricanes attack AI bomber formation (first group)
Dependant on numbers signed up, we may only focus on ONE chapter per night.
Thursday 3rd: Interception and first attacks on bombers.
Monday 7th: Attacking/Defending bombers, Hurricanes vs 109 dogfights.
Thursday 10th: Large Spit vs 109 dogfights.
I’m back! I can’t do Thursday but I will be online for the Monday event. I have posted this onto the 79vRAF Facebook page to, hopefully we can get plenty online.
I should be getting back to normal service from Monday
Please let me know how many will join tonight? I need to setup teams.
We will be Hurricane pilots attacking bombers. If we are less than 8, we will need others to join us. If we are more than 8, some should go Axis, they have few players too.
Thanks a lot everyone from EAF who joined. It was an epic but bloody fight. Looked very good. Lots of bombers and lots of smoking (Hurricanes and bombers).
Did you chaps record tracks? Send them to my mail please!
