A problem with my install.....Solved thanks to Joker

Gentlemen! this afternoon I reinstalled a cockpit mod that i got from dcs dowloads page.
Now it was supposed to work with the latest version but, once I launched the game it crashed and kept doing it even after having deleted the mod and after several repairs.
Any idea?

Just a globally darkened cockpit with the gauges from my black one Blacked v 2.1 with Clear Gauges for people who want a green one.

There’s 3 levels of darkness for you to test out. Only install one version at a time.

It has to be installed using a mod manager like OVGME. Here’s a guide: OVGME - DCS World Wiki - Hoggitworld.com

If you want the default cockpit with my gauges only, first delete the 5 image files that aren’t SpitfireIX-CPT_DIF.dds or description.lua in any of the versions.
Then delete the 5 lines in the description file that start with {"SpitfireIX_1-4 and 6.

Fatto subito, niente da fare.

il mod più che cancellato andava disinstallato e poi cancellato, in quanto se lo cancelli magari ti lascia dentro dei files corrotti in altre cartelle.
Comunque prendi la tua cartella DCS sotto saved game…copiatela da un’altra parte e poi cancella (sempre quella sotto saved games).
Lancia DCS e dovrebbe partire, logicamente senza nessuno delle tue personalizzazioni.
A questo punto puoi:

  1. Prendi e ti reimporti le configurazioni tasti e binding dalla vecchia e stai a posto così
  2. Prendi e ricopi sopra all’attuale cartella in Saved Games quella che ti sei copiato (bada che ho detto copi e non sposti perchè se sposti e qualcosa non va…perdi tutto perchè sìincasina l’unica cartella che avevi copiato).
  3. Ti giochi il jolly della fortuna e dopo uno start andato a buon fine, cancelli l’attuale coartella sotto saved games e rimetti la tua.

Opinione: Se funziona io proverei poi l’opzione 1, al limite proprio limite la 2 e se non va rifarei lo swap delle cartelle e farei 1…comunque non farei mai 3.

Well what you suggested worked just fine, the only thing missing is to apply a REPAIR after taking out the DCS folder. that did the trick. So for a quick recap.

  1. if you have your game crashing after a new install es a MOD, all you have to do is;
    Take your DCS folder in saved game, copy it on your desk, copy not drag…
    then run a REPAIR, you DCS folder will be created ex novo.
    launch your game.
    Now your game should be all right and starting as supposed.
    now if you want you can copy, not drag, your original DCS folder from your desktop into your saved games and launch again.

This worked for me.
