…a day that I will remember forever.
This morning i wasn’t aware it was 9/11, but when i heard the news on the radio this morning i had shivers!
Is it really 17 Years ago?!
I doubt that my step kids are aware how it have shaped their present.
I worked at Copenhagen Peace Research Institute (COPRI) at the time. Ironic! Even more that I got fired due to political infighting. Something which have shaped my life even more than 9/11.
I was waiting to embark on a flight to Africa for a sales meeting- wasn’t particularly keen as security in Africa was less than elsewhere and we had already had a plane blown up over the Sahara.
It’s one of those events where everyone knows what they were doing, like Neil Armstrong’s first step on the Moon. BTW I found out there was a film about this that is soon to be shown on our TV chains.
I wasn’t doing anything exciting like boarding a plane to africa, I was in a paint and tile shop together with my mom picking out tiles for my kitchen when a friend called me and told me that a plane had crashed into one of the WTC towers, at that time we didn’t know what kind of plane, so I thought it was a small private plane. A little later he called again to say that another plane had crashed into the other tower, and that it was passenger planes and then we realized that what was happening was actually quite major. Got home a little later and turned on the TV to hear (and slightly later see) the towers going down…
