2/9/2005, i.e. 10 years ago I Joined the European Air Force as Pilot Officer. With some pauses, it was a good time! Thank you all to accepting me in the club, real Band of Brothers!
Now I am flying RoF mostly; stuck with CLoD (still not overcome the strange “territorial restriction”), yesterday installed IL-2 BoS and long way ahead to master it - so RoF will remain my primary flight sim for the time upcoming.
Also taking into accound my minimal involvement in the forum’s life, I kindly ask to change my status in the Squadron roster to “RETIRED” and restrict my access ti this forum parts to the normal user one’s. I will definitely apply for the “active” status when WW2 sim will be running and I will have more or less guaranteed time to fly it regularly.
It’s always fun to fly with you! And was fun also to meet in person!
Hope you can sort the territorial restriction soon!
(PS have you asked in ATAG as i suggested you???)
Regarding the retired status in 51 we have some pilots that love EAF, but that for many reason don’t fly actively.
We consider them as GROUND CREW
they retain rank and forum permission
when they are ready to fly again we drop the ground crew tag and we are ready to go!
Since it’s clear you love EAF too i would suggest the Ground Crew solution for you also…
Don’t know if it was ever used in41 wing tough…
Ground Crew for now I’d say.
Good to have you with us!
Myself is coming up for 16 years, no real pauses, but some very varying levels of activity, from flying and writing every night more or less the first couple of years, to being unable to fly at all for some time when I started working in Strömsund, to the currently low but (except during the summer) at least fairly frequent flying in CoD.
Great to hear form you Arturo! I joined in 2007 and have also been on and off for all the years, but always return back to active flying, because EAF is such a fantastic bunch of people.
Whenever you feel ready to join us again actively, you are always welcome!
Any member is welcome to re-join EAF whenever they have the time.
Salute all!
So, ground crew then it is (line up you aricrafts for maintenance, please). I installed BoS only few days ago taking advantage of the August sale (-50%), tried it few times, looks reasonably complicated and quite promising. Runs rather slow, I have to tweak graphic settings. Need to through training missions to understand it. No DCS experience. But the RoF - I love it!
Really missing you Arturo. Glad to hear you can participate through BOS in the near future and who knows with DCS later on. (still a shame they don’t let you permit CLOD)
