Hi all,
was looking to dust off DCS and noticed there were some offers on the NTTR and F-5, but they require v2.0. Am a bit confused about the update compatibility with this; if I install them can I still joint v 1.5 to fly with you guys?
Hi all,

To fly both 2.0 and 1.5 you need two installs. And to use 2.0 you need a map, and the only available map for it is NTTR.
The current state of affairs is as follows:
[ul][li]1.5 is the current ‘Stable’ release. It still uses the Georgia Map
[/li][li]2.0 is an ‘Open Alpha’ testing the compatibility and new maps. 1.5 does not currently support the use of more than one map
[/li][li]The two versions are due to be merged into 2.5 in Q1 of 2017 (April - June)
[/li][/ul]When they are merged then there will be a single version with updated graphics and the ability to support a number of maps. Currently there are a further two maps in development - Normandy (1944) and the Straits of Hormuz.
You can buy NTTR now and wait for the two versions to be merged or you can run 2.0 separately. a couple of us have the map, but we stick to 1.5 so that we can all fly together.
Hope that helps,
OD
Thanks both,
so I can theoretically have DCS 1.5 for the Spitfire etc. and separate DCS 2.0, latter running NTTR / F-5.
You would have the F-5 in both, the Spitfire is only available for 1.5 at the moment. You would only be activating the F-5 once though.
