Parachutes are not AAA target anymore

Ah, finally I can bail out in peace!

Nice thanks for the heads-up Meako!

…be sure! :w00t:

(Off to read tomshardware.com, anandtech.com etc for deciding on what to buy. New ATI about to be released, hmmm… :D)

I take it this is only the read-me?
OK, now I have to get a new PSU

Does this mean there will finally be a unified version, or will all the add ons/ third party stuff still kill that hope ?

people being people, at least two competing mod variants, be sure.

I hope this signifies a single version! I’d like to return to ops, but i want to fly rather than have repeated disappointments as mods don’t work and some people can’t join or drop out during the mission. Unfortunately the mod left me disillusioned and I’d like to see a single version again.

Unfortunately though, i’m afraid Sporran is probably right, someone will start “Improving” 4.09 as soon as it’s out

Hi Richy, I would say over 90% of us are using 4.08 vanilla, 4.09 with UI mod or 4.09 with UP mod. With just those three (actually we only use two variations in 602), we are getting plenty of flying in.

I get the feeling it will be just as simple when 4.09 official comes out and the mod packs get tidied up. There has been so much confusion from mods over the last year or so that the majority of EAF want to keep the options simple.

The only annoyance I hear at the moment is the demands of running UP - a good PC will take about 2-3 minutes to load up a mission, a mediocre PC has no chance. Balance that with the beauty of the modded version and the seemingly limitless variation in missions we can fly and maps to fly them on.

A little birdy told me that there is an addition to the ultrpack being worked on that will slash loading times by 75%

Yeeeaaahhhhh! Majiiiiiik!

Yeeeaaahhhhh! Riiiiichy!

Yess, confirmed…they’re eliminating the use of the Wrapper.exe, which slows down enormously the sim.

Exactly, no mods, all on the same game, no nonsense with different squadrons in EAF flying different mods etc.
All for one and I will be happy to return to flying

Same for me! Well, it’s not only mods that’s holding me back from getting back to flying, but it is a part of it.

Small step closer to flying today though, new rudder pedals have arrived.

Both the Ultra pack and AAA have found a problem with the updates as far as I can tell.
Something to do with some code added to the java files that might cause a problem.

I will keep you posted as I find more out
