Rock n Reel review

Just heard that a review of my first cd is being printed in the Nov/Dec issue of Rock n Reel magazine. It’s by the same fellow who reviewed it on his web site ‘8 miles higher’. I’m chuffed to say the least at having my songs written about in a glossy. It’s okay though, I’ll still talk to yez.

Congrats Whizz!

‘Rock and Reel’ tho? Is that some kind of magazine for carp anglers/Elvis impersonators?

Sounds good Whizz. When can we hear a sample?

:roflmao:

Can I get your autograph

…deserved recognition, Whizzo, and I can say that after hearing your album

Should you need somebody at the keyboards/sequencer…I used to play in a cover band called Hard Sky…

:anpeace:

Thanks gents, here’s the online review I got a while back. http://andrewdarlington.blogspot.com/2008/07/psychedelic-folk-sound-of-scotland.html

Doubt if it’ll go much further though, unless I can set up a decent web page. hint hint Joe.

I don’t need hints, just get your ass up here with a crate of beer

Solid Air, John Martyn

Depends how you translate it

Ha ha, there’s a 3 page interview with John Martyn in this month’s Rock n Reel magazine (and me on page 88, lol). Solid Air Ming? Always preferred London Conversation myself.

Joe, I have a domain name but someone else was doing the webpage, although it was never finished and now it’s vanished off the web altogether…question is do I have to contact them in order to start the page from scratch?

Everyone is using blogs these days, very easy to build web pages and you get easy feedback.

It’s free too

Your address would be of the form http://billypryce.blogspot.com/

I’ve just nabbed that name for now, you can have it for yourself or I can admin it for you and put in what you want.

If you want to use your old address, it would probably have to be on a static boring web page, no comments, no fancy features like on blogger depending on what deal you got.

(Actually, you might be able to get fancy stuff, but I’m not that up on web page scripting)

PS, what did the article say?

It’s just an abridged version of the review he did online a few months back. The link is in a post further back on this thread. They gave the album 3 stars out of 5, which I’m happy with. Bob Dylan’s son got a 5 star rating for his new album and Joan Baez gets 4 for hers, so that’s pretty illustrious company. There are some 2 star and even 1 star reviews on there and they had far better facilities than I could dream of. All in all I’m pretty happy with it and just amazed that anyone noticed it at all.

The blogspot thing sounds good, let’s do that. It’s just that the review mentions BillyPryce.com as my webpage and it’s no longer there unfortunately. :frowning:

See if you can get the details of the old domain and I’ll see if I can set up a redirect.

I’ve hidden the blog for now, we can continue this by email

Very cool Billy, look forward to hearing your work…

Dang, i didnt think anyone else knew who John Martyn was…

Sporran

Whizz in a mag with John Martyn?

Proud to know you mate, seriously big muff stuff

PS can you sub us a fiver

Ming

Thanks Ming. Well, Mr Martyn gets a few pages with lots of pics and I get a few words with no pics, so I’m not quite in his league yet. :o

You’ve got all your limbs though so- result
